Migrate to PyCord!

Hey there! In my last post, I talked about the discord.py’s death but in this post, it’s a followup. I’ll be talking about how to migrate to PyCord, the most popular fork of discord.py

First, you will need to Uninstall discord.py by pip uninstall discord.py and install pycord by pip install py-cord Using Pycord, you don’t need to change many imports. If you have a requirements file, update that aswell. If you want examples or want new features before released? Install the dev version and read about it and more in their official github page!

That’s it for me, see ya!

discord.py dead! All details included!

As we know, discord.py has died. It has been announced by the creator and the github page for discord.py has been archived, also proving that it is official dead! So, what can we do now? Is Python abandoned for discord bots? Well, no. There are plenty of discord.py forks ready to be used, such as PyCord or Nextcord or etc. They are pretty close to discord.py but I recommend watching a tutorial on how to migrate to the fork you pick. If you ask which fork is the best, I would say Pycord but it’s your opinion to use! With that said, it’s BlueX signing off! Meet ya in the next one.
